Home and Garden Club Hosts Shelter Shower for SPCA

The Pine Forest Ladies Home and Garden Club hosted a "shelter shower" this month to benefit the Frances R. Willis SPCA. 

They collected leashes, grooming supplies, paper towels, trash bags, cat litter, pet treats, food items, bleach, laundry detergent and disinfectant cleaners. Member Sue Higgins made two lovely dog beds for small to medium sized dogs. Many office supplies like note pads, pens and binders were donated, and Carol Cotter, the club president donated a large, two-drawer metal filing cabinet.

One club member donated $200 in lieu of flowers for family member’s recent funeral. There was a grand total of $340 in monetary donations.

About 30 members attended.
