After hurricane Katrina, 90 percent of lost animals that were reunited with their proper owners had microchips, which correctly identified the animals and owners, according to Shambley Clinic.

3. Price includes lifetime registration and lifetime replaceable ID tags
4. $1000 in Lost Pet Health Insurance. If your pet needs medical care while lost (vet bills), Save This Life, Inc. will pay or reimburse your vet cost up to $1000
5. Microchip ID numbers are searchable in popular search engines like Google.
