Summerville Teen Recovering from Kiawah Is. Shark Bite

A 14-year-old Summerville boy was bitten by a shark at Kiawah Island's Beachwalker Park Tuesday, WMBF News reported.

Joshua Watson suffered a shark bite on the lower part of his leg and has underwent surgery, according to multiple media outlets. According to an account, Joshua punched the shark away when it grabbed his leg.

"At first, he thought somebody has just grabbed his foot, but then he felt the pain," Joshua's mother Rebekah Watson said. "But when he yelled, they all thought he was kidding. And it wasn't until he pulled his foot out of the water that they actually saw the damage."
