Village Knittery Expanding to South Cedar Street
Vacant building on South Cedar Street in process of being renovated for new location.
The Village Knittery on Central Avenue is expanding to a new, nearby location by end of summer, according to owner Emily Spearman.Â
Spearman said her business — which features a wide array of knitting materials and knitting classes — will relocate into 219 South Cedar St., a building currently vacant and now undergoing renovation.Â

Spearman said the new shop will offer more space and a rooftop green space, perfect for outdoor knitting sessions. The Village Knittery has been downtown Summerville for more than four years.
