What's Up in Summerville This Week? Beer, Free Movie, 'Grease' and More

What are your plans for this week? Here're five things you need to know about the week ahead.

  • Homegrown Brewhouse presents Westbrook tap takeover 5-9 p.m. Tuesday. For every 12 oz. Westbrook beer purchased, you will receive a free shaker glass (while supplies last) and for every Westbrook growler fill, you will receive a free tulip glass (while supplies last). There will be lots of great giveaways throughout the evening, and reps from the brewery will be here to meet you and answer any questions you might have. 

  • Ashley Ridge Church and the Ponds Conservency presents "National Treasure" outdoors and for free 6-9 p.m. Wednesday. Kids will be entertained with jump castles from 6 p.m. until dark when the movie starts. The free movie can be seen on a 50-foot inflatable screen. Food vendors will be available with treats for purchase. The church will supply free popcorn and bottles of water. 

  • Flowertown Players continues its production of "Grease." Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8 p.m. Sunday's show is at 3 p.m. The Players will dance into 1959 and to kick off its 2013-2014 season. Click here to buy tickets. 

  • The Town of Summerville will hold its Public Works Committee meeting 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Annex Building Second Floor Training Room. Agenda items include: Barney Rhett Lane Right-of-Way, Fripp Lane Extension, Other Business as Necessary.
  • National Night Out is 7 p.m. Tuesday at Summerville Elks Lodge. This event provides an opportunity to "get-to-know" your neighbors along with local police and fire departments. Join in for an evening of support and participation which will include education on crime prevention, drug awareness, and neighborhood safety.
