Woman Arrested for Manufacturing Methamphetamine

Neighbor alerts authorities to chemical smell at Wood Oak Mobile Home Park in Summerville.

Dorchester County deputies arrested two people for manufacturing methamphetamine in a Summerville mobile home park. 

Monday, deputies were summoned to a mobile home at Wood Oak, off of Miles Jamison Road, after a neighbor detected a chemical odor.

Deputies arrived on scene and also smelled the odor and after a failed attempt to make contact with the owner of the mobile home, the Metro Narcotics Unit was notified. Detectives with the Narcotics Unit responded to the incident location.

The Sergeant of the Metro Unit could smell a strong ammonia odor, which is associated with “One-Pot” methamphetamine labs. Detectives spoke to a woman at the residence who said she was not the owner. 

While at the mobile home, Amy Burgio, the owner of the mobile home arrived. After talking with Detectives, Burgio consented to a search of her mobile home. During the voluntary consent search detectives located parts of the methamphetamine lab.

The mobile home was secured and a search warrant was obtained for the mobile home to conduct the rest of the search. During the search Clandestine Laboratory Technicians from the Metro Narcotics Unit and the DEA Task Force seized two types of methamphetamine labs, a Red Phosphorus method methamphetamine lab and a One-Pot method methamphetamine lab. 

Arrested on scene was Amy Burgio of 108 Marie Lane for manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine, and Peter Ward of Sellars Circle for possession of marijuana.
