First Set Of Sioux Falls School District Spanish Immersion Students Set To Graduate This Spring

SFSD implemented its first Global Studies/World Language program at Rosa Parks Elementary school in 2008. Since then, the program has evolved into a full K-12 Spanish Immersion program with multiple pathways for students.

There are three instructional models that fall under the Spanish Immersion World Language umbrella. The first of three to be implemented within the SFSD was the Spanish Language Immersion program, which allows English-proficient students to become bilingual and biliterate in Spanish. Two-way Immersion and the Spanish Language-Heritage programs were both implemented in 2019.

The first class of Spanish Immersion students will graduate this spring!
