Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:
- Chattanooga has been recognized as a 2022 Digital Inclusion Trailblazer by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance. To earn the coveted recognition, a community must meet digital inclusion leadership criteria. This is the third time that the city has been recognized with the award. (The Chattanoogan)
- The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting incident that occurred at the intersection of Wilcox Boulevard and Shallowford Road. The incident occurred on Sunday night around 9:10 p.m. The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening wounds. Anyone with information is asked to contact the department immediately. (WDEF News 12)
- The Chattanooga Police Department has charged a former caregiver with aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, attempted first-degree murder, and aggravated abuse of an elderly or vulnerable adult. According to an affidavit, Marcella Collins attempted to strangle a former patient in the 7800 block of Scrapeshin Trail on Friday. Collins also stole $4,000 in cash and multiple items from the home.
