  1. The Chattanooga Police Department arrested a carjacking suspect on Monday. Lejuan Gibson, 29 years old, has been charged with carjacking following a series of carjackings that occurred in the 4200 block of Bonny Oaks. The department used drones to locate Gibson after he fled during a police chase. (WDEF)
  2. The Department of Child Services reports that a dramatic increase in casework is impacting the well-being of Chattanooga's foster children. According to the department, there are more than 9,000 children in the foster system, with over 800 located in the Chattanooga area. The department is requesting that the state use some of its "Rainy Day" fund to increase caseworker salaries. A case load cap is also being considered. (Fox 17)
  3. Chattanooga's former Assistant Police Chief will be Smyrna's new police chief. Jason Irvin accepted the new position on Tuesday. According to Symrna's Town Manager Brian Hercules, the town is rapidly growing and needs a police chief with a vision for serving the community. Irvin worked with the Chattanooga Police Department for 25 years. (Daily News Journal)
