Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:
- An early morning shooting on Monday left an individual in critical condition at a Chattanooga hospital. The incident occurred around 12:43 a.m., and the victim was reportedly dropped off at the hospital with life-threatening wounds. The location and the suspect's identity were not obtained by the department. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the department. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- The Chattanooga Motorcar Festival is scheduled for Oct. 14 through 16. Proceeds from the festival will be used to support CHI Memorial hospital and the Neuroscience Innovation Foundation's research. The festival will feature a Concourse d'Elegance, a Pace Grand Prix, and a Mecum vintage auto auction in portions of downtown Chattanooga. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- A graduate athletic training professor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is using virtual reality to study a player's response time after a concussion. The study uses the technology to determine characteristic patterns in players that have had multiple concussions. The ultimate goal of Gary Wilkerson's research is to change the patterns to reduce concussions. (WDEF)
