- The Chattanooga YMCA Community Action Program has expanded its youth mentorship programs thanks to American Rescue Plan Act funds. The Chattanooga City Council approved $300,000 for the program. It has expanded its program from serving 66 children to serving 91. The City Council allocated $3.7 million for public safety and youth engagement programs. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- Chattanooga families are reportedly thrilled about the Child Care Certificate Program changes. Participants can receive a 20 percent reimbursement increase through approved program child care providers. Chattanooga families will now benefit from lower childcare costs. To qualify, a family's income must be below the 85th percentile of Tennessee's median income. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- An altercation at the Best of Prep Football Jamboree resulted in Finley Stadium clearing. The Chattanooga Police Department reports that a Hamilton County Deputy fired a taser to break up the altercation. Individuals fled the stadium when the taser was fired. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident. (WDEF)
