- Chattanooga State Community College has appointed Jessica Green as its new Tennessee College of Applied Technology Dean. She has previously served as the school's interim dean. Her initial goals in the new position will be hiring a TCAT Student Services director, evaluating all programs, and assisting the Surgical Technology program's transition to a credit program. - Chattanooga Police Department is currently accepting applications for its Citizens Police Academy. The nine-week program is meant to foster community-department relationships through education on various law enforcement services. The deadline for applications is on Aug. 15. The classes will begin on Sep. 1. If you’re interested in participating, you can apply here. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- Chattanooga planners have endorsed changes to East Brainerd properties. The changes will reportedly allow additional multifamily and townhouse development in the area. The zoning changes will allow developers to build proposed residential townhouse projects behind Walmart Neighborhood Market on East Brainerd Road. The area is reportedly one of the strongest real estate markets in the city. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
