Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. Early voting for City Council District 8 run-off election starts today. Residents are encouraged to check voter registration cards to see if they reside in the district before attempting to vote. Sep. 15 is District 8 run-off election day.   2. My Eyelab has opened a new location in the Chattanooga area. The optical retailer offers accessible and affordable eyewear at its new 562 Northgate Mall Dr. location. To celebrate the new opening, the store gave a 20 percent discount to its first 20 customers. The store is closed on Sundays. Appointments can be made by calling 405-7313. (The Chattanoogan)
  3. Chattanooga will be celebrating Parking Day 2022 on Sep. 16. The day is meant to allow residents to express creativity while encouraging residents to ponder how outdoor spaces are used. Registration to participate is open through Sep. 2. Registration is free. (WDEF News 12)
