Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:
- The City of Chattanooga has been awarded $4.57 million for an electric vehicle charging system. The federal grant will be matched by municipal and industry partners for a total of $9.2 million. The funding will potentially make Chattanooga the largest urban testing site for smart transportation. The project's plan will reportedly take about three years to complete. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- The Biden Administration has announced federal funding for the Wilcox Bridge. $25 million is being allocated to the City of Chattanooga for the new bridge and the construction of a 12.5-foot multi-use path. The current bridge is in such disrepair that it has a load limit. The new bridge will be able to handle heavy vehicles. (The Chattanoogan)
- Kitchen Incubator of Chattanooga will be hosting Food Truck Fridays in September. The event is a partnership between Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union and the non-profit "LAUNCH." The first event will be held on Sep. 2 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (WDEF News 12)
