Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. The City of Chattanooga has been awarded $4.57 million for an electric vehicle charging system. The federal grant will be matched by municipal and industry partners for a total of $9.2 million. The funding will potentially make Chattanooga the largest urban testing site for smart transportation. The project's plan will reportedly take about three years to complete. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
  2. The Biden Administration has announced federal funding for the Wilcox Bridge. $25 million is being allocated to the City of Chattanooga for the new bridge and the construction of a 12.5-foot multi-use path. The current bridge is in such disrepair that it has a load limit. The new bridge will be able to handle heavy vehicles. (The Chattanoogan)
  3. Kitchen Incubator of Chattanooga will be hosting Food Truck Fridays in September. The event is a partnership between Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union and the non-profit "LAUNCH." The first event will be held on Sep. 2 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (WDEF News 12)
