- According to the Chattanooga Police Department, 10 officers have been reassigned to non-enforcement positions. The decision is due to the officers misrepresenting the truth or filing a false report. The officers will also not be allowed to testify in a court of law. The Fraternal Order of Police criticized the decision. (News-Daily.com)
- Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly's administration is considering a pay raise for grant-funded positions. The proposal is meant to ensure that the city's employees receive a competitive wage. Historically, grant-funded positions have not been supported by city funds. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- According to Hamilton County coaches and athletic directors, county schools cannot compete against other state programs. The two biggest reasons for the competitive gap are the condition of the county's athletic facilities and deficient coaching stipends. The county's teams are currently in their longest championship drought in football and basketball. (Times Free Press)
