National Alzheimer's Project Act (NAPA)

Support the NAPA Reauthorization Act in Congress

Congress passed the National Alzheimer's Project Act (NAPA) in 2011 establishing an advisory
council consisting of Federal Agencies, medical, research and nonprofit stakeholders to develop
recommendations addressing the national health crisis of Alzheimer's. This law is set to expire
in 2025 and requires congressional action to continue this important work.
The NAPA Reauthorization Act (S. 4203/ H.R. 7775) would extend this law until 2035. In
addition it would add the most recent recommendations of promoting the reduction of risk
factors and reducing disparities among underrepresented populations. The bill also adds three
key representives from the federal agencies of Social Security Administration, Federal
Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), and the Department of Justice.
Since the original passage of the Bill, Congress has passed legislation that has led to
improvements in therapies, treatments and eased the burden on patients and caregivers.
This important work must continue.
Join me in urging our representative Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia District
14 to co sponsor and support the passage of HR 7775.
