- A Chattanooga man has been arrested in Arizona for trafficking undocumented immigrants on Friday. Jonathan Garcia Hernandez, 19, led officers on a chase during the arrest attempt. The chase reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour, according to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office. He has been charged with participation in human trafficking, kidnapping, flight from pursuing law enforcement, endangerment, and criminal speed. His bond has been set at $200,000. (WTVC)
- The Chattanooga Police Department has terminated its social media coordinator. Reginald Clack, a Chattanooga photographer, was hired by the department less than three months ago. He was let go for failing "to adhere to policies, procedures, and job requirements." Clack's hiring was protested by the Fraternal Order of Police. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- Outdoor Chattanooga has renamed its River Street building after its former director. Philip Grymes was responsible for bringing many significant events to the area. He was responsible for bringing IRONMAN and Head of the Hooch to Chattanooga. The city's brand as an "outdoor destination" has been attributed to Grymes. (WDEF News 12)
