Red Roof® Completes $2.8 Million Renovation of HomeTowne Studios® Athens TN

ATHENS, TENN., Sept 18, 2025 - Red Roof®, the leader in economy lodging, has announced the renovation of the HomeTowne Studios® Athens TN at 115 Liberty Branch Lane in Athens.

Owner JDH Development invested about $2.8 million in renovations at the property, which included completely renovating guest rooms by installing new flooring, furniture, bedding, mattresses, light figures, 50-inch televisions, toilets, vanities and mirrors; installing new kitchen cabinets, stovetops, microwaves, air fryers and refrigerators; renovating the lobby and common areas; adding new heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems; and new windows.

The 105-room HomeTowne Studios Athens offers guests free Wi-Fi, a free expanded cable package, a guest laundry and free coffee in the lobby. The hotel’s studio-style rooms feature kitchenettes with stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, air fryer and sink. Kitchen kits are available for purchase.

Conveniently located just off I-75, halfway between Knoxville and Chattanooga, the hotel is near a number of area landmarks and destinations, including Eureka Trail, Lost Sea Adventure, Starr Regional Medical Center-Athens, Loudoun State Historic Park, Tennessee Wesleyan University, Athens Regional Park and Mayfield Dairy Visitor Center. Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport and McGhee Tyson Airport are a short drive away.
