- Chattanooga residents with dogs, be on alert: according to veterinary experts, the area has been seeing an unprecedented number of canine respiratory infections. Officials are calling this unexpected outbreak, especially of canine influenza, as a sign for dog owners to keep an eye on their pets for signs of illness. Dog owners are also being told to keep their dogs away from other canines, particularly in dog parks or when out and about. If your dog is experiencing coughing, a runny nose, or a high fever, contact your local vet. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
