- Hamilton County teachers have voted to negotiate a new contract with the Hamilton County School district. According to the unofficial poll results, 2,105 teachers voted to approve the contract negotiations. The Hamilton County Education Association needed 1,703 votes to begin the negotiations process. The teachers plan to negotiate class size, salary, benefits, working conditions, student behavior, and more. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- Chattanooga's Silverdale Baptist Church has been creating sleeping mats for the city's homeless population. The mats are created using recycled plastic bags. The bags are processed into a thick, thread-like material to be crocheted into the mats. The city's homeless population has been growing dramatically since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. - Hamilton County has unveiled a new drone command van. The vehicle will reportedly streamline search and rescue missions, crime scene investigations, and various department operations. The county's law enforcement agencies have been using drones since 2016. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has 18 certified drone pilots. (Police 1)
