- Hamilton County's unemployment rate increased by half a percent in October. The City of Chattanooga experienced a similar increase during the same time period. Williamson County still has the lowest unemployment rate in Tennessee. The national unemployment rate is 0.9 percent lower than it was at this point in 2021. (Chattanooga Pulse)
- Crime in Chattanooga has decreased during the last year, according to the Chattanooga Police Department. Despite the data, Hamilton County voters who participated in a recent Chattanooga Times Free Press poll reported feeling crime has risen in the area. The only crime which has risen in Chattanooga has been theft and robbery. Only 4.8 percent of polled residents thought crime was decreasing in the area. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
- Chattanooga Rescue Mission gave warm meals to the area's homeless population on Thanksgiving. Participants reported feeling cared for and welcomed by the Chattanooga Rescue Mission. The organization's Donald Baer reports the need for food and resources is especially high this year due to the effect of COVID-19 and recent inflation. (WTVC)
