2. Nepali man living in Nashville on Green Card charged in $200K fraud scheme (fox17.com) — A Nashville resident has been charged after Putnam County investigators linked him to an elaborate scam that cost an elderly couple nearly $270,000, according to authorities. Deputies say clear photos taken by the victims helped identify the 30-year-old man from Nashville, who is accused of retrieving gold coins purchased under false pretenses. Officials urge Middle Tennessee families to talk with older relatives about tech and banking scams and to contact law enforcement quickly if something seems suspicious.
   

3. Historic bells removed from East Nashville church to begin restoration process (wsmv.com) — Historic Centennial Bells at the former Tulip Street United Methodist Church in East Nashville have been lifted from their tower to begin a major restoration. East End United Methodist, which moved in after losing its church to the 2020 tornado, is raising $400,000 through its Rebirth on Russell campaign to restore the bells, renovate the building, and eventually return their sound to the neighborhood.
   

4. TWRA opens annual wildlife photo contest (wkrn.com) — Based in Nashville, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is inviting photographers statewide to submit wildlife shots for its 2026–27 calendar and license cards, with cash stipends for selected images. Up to 10 high-resolution, horizontal photos of native Tennessee species can be entered by March 20, 2026. This is a chance for Nashville shutterbugs to showcase their work and potentially see it published.
   

5. Tracking Music City Bowl opt outs for Tennessee and Illinois (on3.com subscription) — Nashville’s Nissan Stadium will host the Music City Bowl on December 30, but several key Tennessee Volunteers and Illinois players are opting out ahead of kickoff. The article details which starters on both sides, including top defenders and receivers, will miss the game, giving local fans a clearer picture of who they’ll actually see on the field.
