Tip Leads To Coke, Cash: Nashville Police

Metro Police arrested five people and seized a kilo of cocaine from a home in North Nashville Thursday.

NASHVILLE, TN — A neighbor's tip led to the arrest of five men and the seizure of a kilogram of cocaine and more than $1,300 in cash from a North Nashville home Thursday.

Police said the cocaine was hidden in a pick-up truck parked behind a house on West Hamilton Avenue near Clarksville Pike. Inside the home, investigators said they discovered another 5.3 grams of cocaine, plus 15 grams of marijuana and $1,337 in cash.

Thomas Crowder, Jr., 50, and Corey Higgins are charged with engaging in a drug conspiracy. Both men have previous convictions for dealing cocaine.

Donald T. Hockett, 45; David T. Woods II, 41; and Michael Shepherd, 22, are charged with felony cocaine possession, drug possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Crowder is being held in lieu of $303,500 bond. Higgins is being held in lieu of $403,500 bond.
The bond for Woods, Hockett and Shepherd is set at $28,500 each.
