Arlington ISD seeks volunteers for a successful Back to School Kickoff

Arlington, Texas - In less than a month, the eagerly awaited ninth annual Arlington ISD’s Back to School Kickoff event will occur at the AT&T Stadium. With this milestone looming, there remains considerable scope for members of the community to get involved and lend their assistance.

The event, scheduled from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, serves as a crucial opportunity for 10,000 Arlington ISD students to gather school supplies for the upcoming school year, neatly packed in new backpacks, Dallas Metro News reported.

You may be wondering, where do you fit into this expansive arrangement?

Whether your contribution is financial, aiding in the purchase of backpacks, or the donation of your time through volunteering, your support plays an integral role in the success of this event.

A broad spectrum of volunteer roles is open for your engagement. These range from distributing the prepared backpacks and assisting at the resource fair, to registering students for their backpack collection, or simply serving as an available resource person. The opportunities are virtually endless, and the schedule is flexible to accommodate your availability. Volunteering begins as early as 7 a.m., extending to shifts commencing after 10 a.m.

For a flawless operation, this event depends on the assistance of over 800 volunteers. Presently, there remains a need for an additional 300 volunteers, especially to bolster our backpack check-in area.

“The volunteers at our event are crucial to its success,” Aaron Perales, the Arlington ISD executive director of equity, access, and engagement, declared. “We’re fortunate to see familiar faces and organizations helping, but it takes a lot of support.”
