Tarrant County jail inmate, 40, dies after being found unresponsive in her cell (dallasnews.com) — A woman first arrested by Arlington police on robbery charges has died after being found unresponsive in her Tarrant County jail cell on December 21. Officials say she received medical care at the jail and JPS Hospital before dying, and multiple agencies are now reviewing the in-custody death, which follows other recent fatalities at the jail.
   

4. Cotton Belt Trail Construction Advances Following $25 Million State Funding Award (arlingtonnetwork.com) — North Texas is moving ahead with a major regional trail expansion that will eventually link Arlington more closely to the wider DFW “Veloweb” network. A new $25 million state grant will speed construction of the Cotton Belt Trail along DART’s Silver Line, a key piece of the larger DFW Discovery Trail planned to connect Arlington with Dallas, Fort Worth, and nearby cities.
