Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. Dallas Inspector General Bart Bevers discussed the city's notoriety for corruption at last week's city council meeting. Bevers claimed that his office would have filed several cases over the last few months if the city had a lower standard for proving ethics violations. The city is now considering adding new amendments to the code of ethics, which will be discussed at the upcoming council meeting on Jun. 14. The proposed amendments would cover how city officials should report gifts and a potential disclosure requirement for anyone who was a paid staff member on a sitting council member's campaign. (Dallas Observer)
  2. The Dallas Police Department said that the 7-year-old girl who was reported to be abducted on Sunday, Jun. 11, was reported to be found safe early Jun. 12 around 1:00 a.m. When the Amber Alert was released, the young girl had last been seen on the 1100 block of West Kiest Boulevard getting into an unknown gray SUV with an unknown man. She was originally walking with her 9-year-old brother to the store around noon until the brother was tricked to leave his sister's side, giving the man a chance to abduct the girl. (WFAA.com)
  3. The Dallas Police Department is introducing a new system called the Dallas Online Reporting System where reporting of non-emergency reports will go. This will officially start on Jul. 3, but the Dallas Police are hosting informational meetings at Jack Evans Headquarters at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. on Jun. 15. This new system aims to get high-priority calls answered and addressed more quickly. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
