Love Field plans major upgrades to enhance access, efficiency and passenger experience (cbsnews.com) — Dallas Love Field is gearing up for a 20-year upgrade plan to handle up to 24 million passengers a year while keeping the airport easy to use. Expect phased construction that replaces Garage A with expanded curb access, improves baggage handling, and adds more gate seating, concessions, and restrooms so Dallas travelers face fewer lines and smoother trips.
   

2. DFW Airport braces for millions of travelers this holiday season with new traffic and parking plans to avoid major back-ups. (wfaa.com) — Holiday travelers from Dallas should expect heavy crowds, long security lines, and new traffic patterns at DFW Airport through January 6, with peak days around the weekends before and after Christmas. Officials urge reserving parking early, considering transit or rideshare, and arriving two hours early for domestic flights and three hours for international departures to avoid major delays.
   

3. UNT Dallas unveils new $100M STEM learning facility (dallasexaminer.com) — A major new $100 million STEM building has opened at UNT Dallas, the city’s only public four-year university in southern Dallas, expanding classroom, lab, and event space. The facility is designed to grow local pathways into nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, and other health careers, helping address North Texas’ severe healthcare workforce shortages while deepening partnerships with area hospitals and universities.
   

4. North Texas animal shelter bracing for holiday boarding under the guise of pet surrenders (cbsnews.com) — North Texas shelters are bracing for a holiday spike in pet surrenders, but Dallas Animal Services says it isn’t currently seeing owners using surrender as a way to avoid boarding fees. The Colony’s shelter reports Thanksgiving calls already surged, with more expected around Christmas, and warns that pets surrendered as fake “boarding” can quickly become city property with little chance of reunification.
   

5. Dallas gathers for Hanukkah after Bondi Beach attack – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth (nbcdfw.com) — Hundreds of Dallas residents gathered at Klyde Warren Park for a Hanukkah menorah lighting Thursday night, supported by Dallas police and volunteer security. Coming days after a deadly attack at a Jewish festival in Australia, the event mixed celebration with reflection and a message of resilience from local rabbis and community members.
