- Dallas is the best place for foodies, and a new report backs this statement. Texas Monthly released the best new restaurants throughout the state for 2023, and two Dallas eateries ranked in the top 10. Au Troisieme made the No. 8 spot, and Revolver Taco Lounge Gastro Cantina came in No. 5, with Brass Ram as an honorable mention. - A court hearing on Monday revealed law enforcement agencies in Dallas were not informed that a stabbing suspect had relocated to Texas with a pending criminal case in Nevada. Nika Nikoubin, 22, has been on house arrest since June 2022 after posting a bond and being released from a Las Vegas jail. Nikoubin was accused of stabbing a man inside a Las Vegas hotel in revenge. A police detective for the University of Texas at Dallas is concerned with the college campus and community safety. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
- CityLab High School participated in and advanced a team to the "Speak Up Speak Out" state competition. Students work together in small groups during the fall semester to identify and solve a community problem using their diverse backgrounds and talents. The advancing team's project was focused on "What We Do With Trash," where they provided ideas on how to fix the issue. The state competition will be on Mar. 6 in Austin. (Dallas ISD)
