  1. On Sunday, Apr. 16, Dallas College will be hosting its annual culinary and hospitality program fundraiser known as Bits & Bites. The event will take place at Dallas Arboretum's A Tasteful Place from 6 to 8 p.m. Around 30 local chefs will be paired with various culinary students at Dallas College to serve 18,000 plates of food in one night.   2. Criminal justice experts, Dallas leaders, the police chief, and the District Attorney gathered on Thursday, Mar. 30 to discuss public safety measures. According to the Public Safety Solutions for America Coalition, Dallas has experienced a recent decline in violent crime over the last two years. The community hopes to continue improving the police-resident relationship and discuss best practices to keep the area safe. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
  3. Many city leaders and the owners of the Longhorn Ballroom gathered on Thursday, Mar. 30 to celebrate the storied music venue returning to Dallas. The venue underwent a four-year hiatus and just reopened its doors to the public this past week.   • On Wednesday, May 3, you can join the Dallas Cowboys at Riders Field for the 10th Annual Reliant Home Run Derby. Over the years, this event has helped raise over $430,000 for the Salvation Army and local charities around and beyond the Dallas area.
