- On Monday, former Dallas Stars hockey player Marty Turco opened his first bar at Dallas Love Field airport. The new spot called Turco 35 is a floating bar near Gate 12, serving cocktails, wine, and beer. Turco visited the bar at its grand opening and said the bar is "a big part of [his] progression as a retired athlete, entrepreneur, and businessperson." Turco will visit the bar sporadically to surprise guests. (Subscription: The Dallas Morning News)
- U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra was at the Baylor Scott & White Health and Wellness Center - Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center on Wednesday to discuss the Inflation Reduction Act, which will curb the costs of certain drugs. Prescription drug provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act will need the federal government to negotiate prices for a selection of drugs covered under Medicare Part B and Part D, with the highest total spending beginning in 2026. - The Dallas Police Department's Junior Police Academy is hosting its Advanced Junior Police Academy course for students in grades 9-12!
