- Pedro Ramirez, 20, is accused of shooting and killing a man around 7:00 a.m. on Thursday. The shooting happened in the 5700 block of Duncanville Road where police responded to gunshots and found a male victim. The victim was taken to the local hospital where he died of his injuries. Ramirez was arrested for murder and was booked at the Dallas County Jail. (Subscription: Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
- Hector Manuel Castro-Quirino, 49, was sentenced this week for hiding more than $1.5 million at a South Dallas house where he was trafficking cocaine and meth. The man pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances in September last year and was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Wednesday. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
- The Dallas County Health and Human Services building was on lockdown Thursday for reports of possible gunshots. An employee said they heard what sounded like gunshots on the floor below them and the building went into lockdown around 2:30 p.m. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office said they did not find evidence of a shooting but the investigation remains ongoing.
