- On Sunday morning, a Dallas police officer hit a pedestrian with an unmarked police vehicle on the 1400 block of Botham Jean Boulevard, near the Dallas Police Department (DPD) headquarters. The officer stayed at the scene and the pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. According to DPD, the accident is still under investigation and the officer has not been put on leave. (WFAA)
- Court documents revealed that web services like Microsoft Bing and the app Kik reported inappropriate content, helping Dallas police discover some of the 59 suspects arrested in a massive child exploitation bust – including two teachers and a Dallas firefighter. In May 2022, Kik reported inappropriate content to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Dallas Police were notified and on Feb. 3 they arrested 29-year-old Maximillian Arya. One detective said technology is a double-edged sword because "it does make it easier to find these individuals, but it also allows these individuals to share this information more readily." (Fox 4 News)
- Dallas restaurant Ellen’s was named the best pancake spot in Texas by Food Network! Yesterday, Feb. 21, was National Pancake Day and Food Network said Ellen's Pancake Pot Pie will make your friends "jealous of what you ate for breakfast." (CW33 Dallas)
