- Dallas Zoo officials are getting the police involved after the death of one of its endangered vultures last week. Officials reported the death of the vulture as suspicious and under unusual circumstances. Due to this incident and previous unusual incidents this month at the zoo, zoo officials wanted to get law enforcement involved to investigate. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
- A recent Stacker report named the highest-paying management jobs in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington area. The media company used data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to compile the list, which ranked jobs by wage from 2021. Among the top of the list were chief executives making an annual salary of an average of $296,480 and architectural and engineering managers averaging $164,390. (CW33 Dallas)
- A Dallas Police Department officer was on break during a training session on Jan. 10, and while he was on his way to buy a snack for his K9 partner, he was waved down by a woman. The woman was screaming for help for her 1-year-old child, who was not breathing or moving. Senior Corporal Sergio Perez began chest compressions while awaiting the ambulance's arrival. It was the first time Perez performed CPR in his 24-year career. The child is expected to make a full recovery. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
