  1. Yesterday, Feb. 5, a fatal crash involving three vehicles occurred in the westbound lanes of I-30 near Chalk Hill Road in Dallas. Dallas County Sheriff's Office deputies said the driver of one of the vehicles died in the crash, another driver was taken to a local hospital, and the third driver was not seriously injured and stayed at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn King Arnold revealed that construction of Dallas' new deck park, which will stretch across I-35 south of the Dallas skyline between Ewing and Marsalis Avenues, is "struggling financially" and needs an additional $20 million. According to Arnold, the Regional Transportation Council, part of the North Central Texas Council of Governments, has pledged "at least a portion of" the "$80 million or more" needed. (WFAA.com)
  3. The second edition of the Dallas Open will be held from Feb. 6 through Feb. 12 at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
