Woman Fires Gun At Dallas Love Field Airport: Police

Dallas police quickly shot the woman, who was taken to Parkland Hospital. No other injuries were reported.

DALLAS, TX — A woman opened fire at Dallas Love Field airport Monday morning, according to the Dallas Police Department.

A police officer quickly engaged the woman, identified as 37-year-old Portia Odufuwa, shooting her in the "lower extremities" before arresting her, a Dallas Police Department spokesperson told reporters.

Odufuwa was dropped off at the airport just before 11 a.m. She went into a restroom and emerged wearing new clothing, including a hoodie, before she opened fire with a handgun in the ticket counter area. She was the only person injured in the shooting, the spokesperson said.

"TSA did a great job" in its response to the shooting, Geron said.

All inbound flights to Dallas Love were held at their origin until 1:30 p.m. Monday, and the airport experienced delays as a result of the shooting. As of 4 p.m. Monday, the airport was experiencing delays averaging 30 minutes, according to FlightAware.

All passengers were re-screened through security as they were let back into the airport, according to the TSA.
