- A Dallas police officer's family has made a large donation in his honor to the Dallas Police Department. Officer Mitchell Penton was killed by a car in the line of duty on Feb. 13, 2021 while directing traffic. Penton's parents, Tim and Kathy, donated a horse to the department's Mounted Unit named Walker. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
- A man caused three blocks of Singleton Boulevard to be closed on Monday morning after refusing to climb down a crane he had climbed up. Around 7:00 a.m., the crane operator arrived to work and saw the man on the crane; when he refused to come down, the operator called the police. The crane was stretched over Singleton Boulevard so the road was closed in both directions below. According to another source, the man was still on the crane Monday afternoon. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
- One person was shot at a Deep Ellum restaurant and venue on Sunday evening. Police responded to The Free Man at the 2600 block of Commerce Street at 10:54 p.m. to reports of a shooting. The victim was in critical condition. No other details about the incident were available as of Monday evening. (WFAA.com)
