ICYMI: Here Are Dallas' Top Stories From May 23-30, 2021
A week of jaw-dropping developments in the slaying of a Dallas 4-year old; the legislative session folds up its tent — for now, and movies!!

DALLAS, TX —You can say goodbye, but not farewell, to the Texas legislature as the session draws to a close this week. On the other hand, as Lenny Kravitz once sang, "It ain't over 'till it's over." GOP Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has called for a special session to push an anti-transgendered-athletes-in-school bill, and another that prevents social media sites from fact-checking even the wildest theories —provided they're considered expression of political views.
Making matters worse is that Patrick's governmental superior (that would be The Governor) has served his subordinate and fellow party member the kind of stink eye you haven't seen since the quarterback kissed your girlfriend at prom — right in front of you. Calling a special session is within the governor's jurisdiction, Gov. Greg Abbott told the media while actually taking to Patrick through them. It's no one else's job. Or responsibility. So... back off.

Around 7 a.m. on May 15, Antwainese Square discovered 4-year old Cash Gernon, bloodied, shirtless, shoeless and lifeless, with ants crawling over his feet in the middle of a South Dallas street. Since then, more information has come out about how Cash lived and the accused kidnapper— including an early morning video showing the tyke's abduction from a crib where he was sleeping with his twin brother. Then, almost at the same moment Square discovered Cash's body, the same hooded figure appears again in his bedroom on video — possibly to snatch the other twin.
So... see if you can keep up with this barrage of fact (and sloppy detective work from Fox's Nancy Grace), then brace yourself for the next chapters. (The latest is that the alleged kidnapper denies that he's the person seen abducting the child in the video.)
There's also news from DFW that air travelers are more unruly than ever. See the astonishing numbers, and see if you agree with a proposed solution to end those in-flight tantrums.

Last, but far from least, be advised that the folks who brought you the QAnon conspiracies are holding a convention this weekend in Dallas, and you're welcome to attend — so long as you (a.) are willing to entertain that pedophile Democrats are controlling America as part of a "Deep State" agenda, (b.) dispute the FBI's assessment that they're a domestic terror organization, and (c.) aren't holding a press pass in any kind of "mainstream media" that could hold their ideas up to the light of day.
