DALLAS, TX — President Donald Trump will hold a rally at American Airlines Center in Dallas Thursday evening. At the same time as Trump's rally, former Texas Congressman and Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke will be holding his own competing event nearby.

Trump left Washington for the Dallas-area late Thursday morning. Before the rally, Trump had a number of local engagements on his schedule, including a roundtable, a fundraising committee luncheon and a tour of a Louis Vuitton workshop.

O'Rourke's rally is titled "Rally Against Fear" and is being held at the Theatre at Grand Prairie.

"We will show President Trump he doesn't represent Texas — and he doesn't represent America," O'Rourke said in a tweet urging supporters to join his rally on Thursday.

Supporters of President Trump preparing for his arrival have been outside the American Airlines Center since the early morning hours. The venue can reportedly hold 20,000 people while O'Rourke's venue has a smaller indoor seating capacity of 6,350.
