- Dallas Police are asking for any information on the shooting death of Fredrick Miles who was found Tuesday afternoon dead in his apartment. According to Miles' family, no one had heard from him since the last Friday and when police responded to the call around 2:15 p.m. On Tuesday, in the 3400 block of Southern Oaks Boulevard, officials found 51-year-old Miles with a gunshot wound. Anyone with any information on the incident is encouraged to contact Detective Brewster Billings via email or phone. Crime Stoppers may pay up to $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest or indictment surrounding this case. (WFAA.com)
- Dallas police arrested a man Wednesday morning around 1 a.m. after the suspect stole a police squad car. Officers responded to a disturbance call around 9 p.m. Tuesday night on Thedford Avenue and Roper Street when the suspect took off with the vehicle. It has not yet been determined if this was the same suspect in the disturbance call. The man drove to Arlington Park and Chattanooga Place before he left the vehicle and hid out in an apartment on the 1700 block of Chattanooga. The incident resulted in no injuries as the police were able to detain and arrest the suspect. (WFAA.com)
- Cities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are continuing to see increased rent from last year to now with Irving being at nearly 15 percent higher from last year. The steady trend of rent rising is making it harder for residents to continue to live in the city. According to the Zumper, Irving is the 34th most expensive rental city in the nation and Dallas is close behind at No. 36. The rise in price for one and two-bedroom apartments is partially due to inflation as well as the unpredictability of the economy. It is uncertain what the future holds but with the predicted interest rise, there should be a deceleration in rent rising. (CultureMap Dallas)
