  1. Mill Creek Tunnel's Storm Water Project is expected to be completed by 2025. The Storm Water project, meant to bring flooding relief to East Dallas, began in 2018, and several access points are under construction in East Dallas and Uptown, including Thursday's removal of construction covers from stormwater inlets that will eventually connect to the deep tunnel. Dallas Utilities officials are developing a 10-year work plan that could add smaller projects to improve Dallas stormwater management, and the city is also crafting a 2024 public improvement bond referendum. (NBC DFW)
  2. Dallas scored as the worst city in Texas and the second-worst city in the U.S. for pollen allergies, according to a study by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). AAFA's 2023 Allergy Capitals report revealed that Dallas ranks second after Wichita, Kansas, for worse pollen allergen conditions. The report looks at five factors: tree, grass and weed pollen scores, over-the-counter allergy medicine use, and availability of board-certified allergists/immunologists. Dallas' overall score was 87.26. (WFAA.com)
  3. Over 300 teddy bears were donated to the Dallas County Sherrif's Office on Friday morning. The animals were collected by Alana's Gift, an organization the was formed in memory of a local little girl who died in a car accident, and will be distributed to kids for comfort following traumatic situations, such as car accidents and domestic violence calls.
