Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- The man shot by DeSoto police on Monday was wielding a homemade weapon. Police say Michael Christopher Nunez lunged at the officer with a knife-like weapon. The officer involved remains unnamed and has been placed on administrative leave. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
- Dallas will soon be home to an Adults-Only Roller Skate Rink and Restaurant. On Brand Hospitality revealed their plans this week for Ride On, which will be a 17,000-square-foot facility at 1001 N. Riverfront Blvd. The Design District building is set to open this fall. (Dallas Observer)
- The weather will continue to be messy into the weekend. Storms that could contain quarter-size hail will roll in on Friday. There may be a lull in the wet weather on Saturday before Sunday sees the return of scattered rain. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)

- Easter egg hunts begin this weekend. There will be multiple areas throughout the city where families can participate in the festivities. Dallas Park and Recreation will be hosting citywide events that will feature games, crafts, and of course, egg hunts. (The Dallas Morning News)
- A new addition to the Dallas Zoo has arrived. A baby giraffe weighing in at 131 pounds was introduced to the world last week. The girl giraffe will remain behind the scenes until the Zoo is ready to show her off to visitors. The mother, Chrystal, and father, Tebogo, are all doing great after their herd grew by one.
