  1. New state bills were introduced to toughen laws for parolees. Inspired by the deadly Dallas hospital shooting in October 2022, lawmakers recently introduced new bills that would make it a felony to remove an ankle monitor. The bill also "requires hospitals to be notified if a violent criminal is being allowed on campus and would make the assault of a hospital worker a 3rd-degree felony." (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. The Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center will host the Spay Neuter Network every Thursday in March. The network comes with free vaccines and starts this Thursday, Mar. 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. You can receive free Parvo/Distemper vaccines for dogs and free FVRCP vaccines for felines. (Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center)
  3. Dallas Contemporary is playing host to a resonating, haunting new video installation. From the artistic mind of Gabrielle Goliath and curated by Emily Edwards, "Chorus" is a 23-minute long video installation that shows a performance by the University of Cape Town choir. It is located in a dark room and calls attention to gender-based violence. The names of 463 people in South Africa killed over two years are up on a wall in the exhibit. (KERA News)
