- The Dallas Fire Rescue and Police have declared that the search for two missing men in the Trinity River will not resume. Rescue crews spent hours in the river searching for the two men to show up, but were not able to locate their bodies. According to officials, the two men ended up going underwater and did not resurface. (Irving Weekly)
- On Saturday, Apr. 15, the City of Dallas and AAA will be joining forces to host a Teen Driver Safety Fair ahead of prom season. With April being National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the event will be taking place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Campbell Green Recreation Center in Dallas. The programming includes various guest speakers, traffic safety experts, interactive exhibits, and resources that are designed to help pre-permit teens, new drivers, and their families navigate the importance of incorporating safe driving habits. - President and CEO Gregg Hudson of the Dallas Zoo tragically passed away last week following a brief, but valiant battle with cancer. The 64-year-old president and CEO has been serving in his role since 2006 and was an instrumental leader in the zoo's public and private partnership with the city of Dallas. Family and friends of Hudson encourage any donations on his behalf be made to the Dallas Zoo or the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. (CultureMap - Dallas)
