DALLAS, TX — The shooter who fired a handgun at Dallas Love Field airport Monday yelled about marriage and incarceration and threatened to blow up the airport just prior to opening fire, police say.

The Dallas Police Department released surveillance and body cam video of the shooting, and say the woman shot at the ceiling and a police officer before an officer shot her in the leg.

Portia Odufuwa, 37, is being charged with aggravated assault of a public servant and more charges could be filed, Dallas Assistant Police Chief Reuben Ramirez said. (Warning: The video is graphic in nature.)

Surveillance footage shows a woman who authorities say is Odufuwa being dropped off by an Uber driver, who authorities have said was uninvolved, before walking into the terminal and going into a restroom. She emerges a short time later and walks into the ticketing area, where she appears to get everyone's attention by talking.

The video then shows her taking out a handgun from her hoodie and pointing it at the ceiling, sending everyone in the area scrambling to the ground or behind ticketing kiosks. A Dallas police officer, identified by Ramirez as Ronald Cronin, quickly pulls his gun and shoots Odufuwa after she points her gun at him, the video shows. Odufuwa then dropped the gun, which skidded away from her on the ground, when she was shot, the video shows.

The shooting was over within 10 seconds.

Odufuwa remains on the ground and after a minute, several other officers arrive to help Cronin arrest her, the video shows.

In bodycam footage that begins after the shooting occurred, Cronin can be heard saying "stay down." As officers approach her, Odufuwa can be heard in the video yelling "I need an ambulance!"

Officers then arrest Odufuwa, and blood can be seen on the ground underneath her. A short time later, one officer says Odufuwa has a wound in her thigh and asks for medical equipment to provide aid until medical personnel can arrive.

Both Dallas police and the Dallas County District Attorney's Office are investigating the shooting, Ramirez said.
