Irving Man on Probation Arrested After Multiple Strangulation Incidents Against Girlfriend (irvingweekly.com) — An Irving man was arrested after police say his girlfriend reported repeated assaults, including being grabbed by the neck and struggling to breathe at a South Irving home near Senter Park. Officers observed fresh injuries, booked him into Irving Jail on a felony family-violence charge, and later transferred him to Dallas County Jail, where his prior probation status may now be reconsidered.
   

2. Irving Woman Arrested After Ramming SUV into Ex-Girlfriend's Vehicle Leaving Two Victims Injured (irvingweekly.com) — An Irving woman was arrested after police say she intentionally rammed an SUV into a car carrying her ex-girlfriend and the woman’s mother in an apartment parking lot off Esters Road, injuring one victim. Irving officers responded to Fire Station 6, reviewed in-car video, and booked the suspect into jail on two aggravated assault charges with a requested emergency protective order.
   

3. Growing Layoffs In North Texas: S&S Activewear Axes 146 Roles In Irving (dallasexpress.com) — Nearly 150 workers at S&S Activewear’s Irving distribution center have been laid off, adding the city to a growing list of North Texas communities hit by job cuts. The Texas Workforce Commission received notice on December 10, and a law firm is now investigating whether the company gave employees the 60 days’ notice required under federal WARN rules.
   

4. $18.6M worth of fake luxury jewelry, watches seized by customs in Louisville (fox17.com) — Federal customs officers in Louisville recently seized three international shipments of counterfeit luxury watches and accessories, including one package headed to an address in Irving. The parcels, originating from Hong Kong and Taiwan, contained fake Cartier, Rolex, and other high-end brands that would have been worth millions if genuine, underscoring ongoing counterfeit risks for online shoppers.
   

5. Practice Fired CDC Vaccine Panel Chair, His Wife Says (newsmax.com) — A pediatric cardiologist listed with Christus Health in Irving is at the center of a national controversy after his wife said he was fired following his role chairing a CDC vaccine advisory panel. She claims public backlash over the committee’s move to narrow infant hepatitis B vaccine recommendations led to his dismissal, sparking debate over science, ethics, and public pressure.
