• Growing Layoffs In North Texas: S&S Activewear Axes 146 Roles In Irving (dallasexpress.com) — Nearly 150 workers at S&S Activewear’s Irving distribution center have been laid off, and a law firm is investigating whether the company gave the 60 days’ notice required under federal law. The Texas Workforce Commission’s WARN database shows 146 local jobs cut on December 4, part of a broader cooling trend in the North Texas and Illinois economies.
   

• Biosimilar Patient Experience Focus NASP 2025 (pharmacypracticenews.com) — An Irving-based CHRISTUS Health study found that more than half of 209 patient switches from Humira to adalimumab biosimilars either failed or were discontinued after insurance-driven formulary changes. Pharmacists often first spotted problems like new side effects or loss of disease control and sometimes helped patients successfully appeal to resume Humira or try different therapies. The report also contrasts these challenges with smoother, cost-saving biosimilar transitions at a Chicago hospital.
