• Clothing distributor closing facility in North Texas, will lay off nearly 150 workers (wfaa.com) — A major clothing distributor is shutting down its Irving warehouse on Trade Avenue, cutting 146 local jobs between December 2025 and September 1, 2026. S&S Activewear says the closure is permanent but notes employees will receive at least 60 days of pay and required benefits after this WARN notice, giving affected workers some time to plan their next steps. 
• City officials discuss selection of new Amarillo police chief (abc7amarillo.com) — Irving residents may soon see a change in local police leadership, as Irving Police Department veteran Thomas Hoover has accepted a conditional offer to become Amarillo’s next police chief. Amarillo officials praised his work on homelessness, technology, and real-time crime centers in Irving, and he’s expected to start in late January pending background checks and council confirmation.
• Dallas man gets 57 months in federal prison for North Texas ATM‑theft spree, prosecutors say (cbsnews.com) — Irving police were among several North Texas departments that helped investigate a 2023 ATM-theft ring that hit convenience stores across the region. A Dallas man has now been sentenced to nearly five years in federal prison for his role, after prosecutors detailed how the crew smashed into stores, stole ATMs with vehicles, and abandoned both machines and cars.
