- Get ready for this Mexico-founded hard agua fresca to cool you down in Texas heat! "Picadas — a brand of alcohol-infused aguas frescas — has landed its drinks in more than 40 San Antonio H-E-B stores." The brand says it's the first of its kind, using real fruit juices and cane sugar in its beverages to represent authentic Mexican flavors. Each 12 -ounce can contains 130 calories and 4.5% alcohol. More details on this emerging brand at San Antonio Current.
- Bexar County Courthouse had 650 people in line for jury selection, after three years of not meeting in person. "Because of COVID-19, the felony courts were at one time 4,000 cases behind." Currently, judges have a lower caseload and they're still very much behind. It's recommended that those summoned for jury duty fill out an online questionnaire before showing up in court, to help the process move smoothly. More details on this story at FOX 29.
- Espada Aqueduct in San Antonio is getting $290,000 worth of repairs. At 275 years old, it's the oldest aqueduct in the nation and needs leaks repaired as well as sediment and debris removal. It "spans a creekbed and was built between 1740 and 1745. It was part of a larger irrigation system that carried water from the San Antonio River to communities and their farming fields." After repairs are completed, water from the San Antonio River will be re-introduced to the aqueduct. Visit KSAT San Antonio for more details.
