Man stabbed in neck near San Antonio car wash fighting for life as police search for suspect (kens5.com) — San Antonio police are searching for a suspect after a man was found with a life-threatening stab wound to his neck near a car wash on the 5900 block of South Flores Street. The victim, discovered bleeding heavily after seeking help at a nearby store, has not yet been identified as detectives work to narrow down several possible suspects.
   

2. Taking rainbows off the road: San Antonio to install Pride sidewalks after crosswalk removal ordered by state (ksat.com) — San Antonio plans to replace its Pride-themed crosswalks on North Main Avenue with standard markings but will add new rainbow-colored sidewalks nearby to keep LGBTQ+ visibility in the Pride Cultural Heritage District. City leaders, including Councilmember Sukh Kaur and Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones, are balancing community pressure with state and federal directives while exploring more public art and symbols of support.
   

3. How a $30 million gift to UTSA will advance public health in rural communities (expressnews.com) — A major $30 million donation is boosting UT San Antonio’s School of Public Health, now renamed for Kate Marmion, to expand health services and research benefiting South and rural Texans. The gift strengthens UTSA and UT Health San Antonio’s newly merged academic health center, funding scholarships, community outreach, and targeted interventions for chronic diseases like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
   

4. How a San Antonio artist's reimagined nativity reflects the national immigration debate (kens5.com) — A powerful reimagined nativity scene in San Antonio’s Southtown neighborhood is sparking reflection on immigration, family separation, and compassion while supporting a local artist with late-stage cancer. The installation at No Más Arte is tied to a Pancho Claus toy drive for children in 78207 and will stay up through Jan. 2, when its sale will help cover medical bills.
