  1. CPS Energy has a color-coded conservation chart to help San Antonio residents to conserve energy during these extreme heat temperatures. "The utility acquired about 23 percent more energy capacity, which is enough to power about an additional 260,000 homes." (WOAI)
  2. The insurance firm, Allstate, "files suit claiming it's not liable in fatal San Antonio dog attack." They made this claim because the homeowner, Carlos Moreno was the insurance policy holder, but his son and daughter-in-law who owned the dogs are not insured persons. If the court rules in Allstate's favor, the dog owners, Christian Alexander Moreno and Abilene Schnieder Moreno, will be financially responsible for Juanita Najera's lawsuit for her husband's wrongful death. (San Antonio Current)
  3. Gov. Greg Abbott signed HB 3 into law, making it mandatory for all public schools to have at least one armed security officer or armed school personnel, statewide. "According to the Intercultural Development Research Center, the price tag to pay an armed security guard for an entire school year could cost up to $100,000." The new law will also include $330 million for building security centers at schools. (KSAT San Antonio)
